Two arrested for disfigurement of Baba Gurmukh statue

The Communist Party of India (CPI) and Kamagatamaru centenary celebrations committee expressed satisfaction over the arrest of two accused who were involved in disfigurement of the statue of Gadri Baba Gurmukh Singh Lalaton.

In a statement released on Wednesday Com Gurnam Singh Sidhu, member of the committee who had met the police commissioner, said that it is a great achievement as such people who disrespect the freedom fighters have been arrested.

The committee thanked all those people who have actively participated and supported this struggle.

The committee has appealed to the police to go into the depth as to under whose patronage the miscreants did this heinous crime and were being protected till date.

The incident dates back to October last and after many protests, the accused were arrested two days back.

The arrested accused were involved in snatching and other cases of thefts.
