Rs 10 lakh looted from two employees of wine contractor

Around six miscreants looted Rs 10 lakh from the employees of wine contractor in Janata Nagar area on Sunday night.

The accused threw chilli powder in the eyes of the victims, then attacked them with sharp-edged weapons and looted a bag containing Rs 9.83 lakh from them.

The Shimlapuri Police registered a case against unidentified persons in this context.

According to information, the employees of Gagan Wine Company, Dalbir Singh along with driver Hardeep, were on the way to the office after collecting money when the accused on three-four motorcycles intercepted them.

Dalbir told the police that they had collected cash from the liquor vends on Chandigarh road and were on the way to their office in Bolero car being driven by Hardeep Singh.

He alleged that when they reached Janata Nagar area, the accused intercepted them and threw chilli powder in the eyes of Hardeep and attacked him with sharp-edged weapon. After that, the accused snatched a bag containing Rs 9.83 lakh from the victim and fled.

The victims were rushed to a private hospital where their condition was stated to be stable.

On being informed, the Shimlapuri police reached the spot and initiated investigation in the case. The Shimlapuri SHO said a case had been registered against unidentified accused and the police were scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed at nearby establishments.
