Danga Peerat Welfare Society has demanded Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) election ticket for Gurdeep Kaur,President of women wing of this society from SAD(B). The society members stated that if SAD(B) will not give ticket,they will field her independent from Ludhiana west. Amarjeet Singh Rajpal,vice-president of the society said that more than 2.5 lakh voters of the society will boycott the SGPC candidates fielded by SAD(B),if Gurdeep Kaur is denied a ticket. The members also stated that they will boycott SGPC Chief Avtar Singh Makkar in the elections. Makkar had instructed the management of Gurudwara Amb Sahib in Mohali to stop serving langar to the danga peerat society members when they protested against the state government in October 2010,alleged Rajpal.
