Kewal Ahuja,a retired deputy chief engineer of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) died at the local Dayanand Medical College and Hospital after struggling for life for almost two days.
Kamaljeet Singh,inquiry officer,informs that Kewal Ahuja who is a resident of Kichloo Nagar was found near village Phagle in Laddowal area some two days ago. According to the police,Ahuja had a gun shot wound in his head and his licensed revolver was in his hand.
Sushant Ahuja,son of the deceased,is reported to have told the police that two days ago his father left for their farm house which is located in Hambran. At that time his father was driving his own Maruti Swift.
After some time,Sushant who trades in textiles received a call that his father was lying by the roadside.
He reached the spot immediately and called up the police.
Kewal Ahuja was rushed to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) but the doctors could not save him.
The Laddowal police have registered a case and are investigating the matter to make sure that it is a case of suicide and not murder.
The police also said that Ahuja was under a lot of stress for quiet some time and that his mental state was not too good.
The body of the deceased was handed over to the family after post mortem.
