Protest organised in support of GADVASU students

Various trade unions and other social organisations held a meeting under the presidentship of Professor A K Maleri in support of the agitating fisheries graduates of GADVASU who have been demanding jobs from the Punjab government since June 2.

The trade unions have also decided to hold a protest march on July 7 at the Deputy Commissioner’s office and thereafter submit a memorandum to the DC. D P Maur said  that first they will gather at the statue of Shaheed Katar Singh Srabha at the Bhai  Wala Chowk at 10 am  before marching towards the DC office.

Those who attended the meeting include D P Maur- secretary joint council of Trade Unions, A K Maleri from AFDR, Tarsem Jodhan, Ex M LA, Jatinder Pal  Singh -Secretary CITU and many others.
