The District Consumer Court on Thursday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) chairman Ashok Juneja for not complying with the orders of the court issued on a complaint filed by one Mohinder Singh,a city resident, against the LIT.
The court of P N Vaidya, president,District Consumer Forum, issued the warrant on an execution appeal filed by Singh, who said the LIT was not complying with the courts earlier order that had gone in his favour.
The LIT had acquired a 500-yard plot owned by Singh, who claimed he was not duly compensated.
Singh filed a case against the LIT in 2004 in the consumer court, which ruled in favour of the complainant, but LIT allegedly failed to comply with the orders.
The court had asked LIT to give back the possession of the plot along with its sale deed.
The case has also been heard in the state as well as national commission.
To get the orders executed,Singh had filed an execution plea with the local court in 2008.
Singhs counsel Rohit Thapar said,Singh was required to be compensated for his plot as he was an LDP (locally displaced person). Juneja could not be contacted despite several attempts.
