Team is not pleased with the Bharatiya Janata Party merely stressing on a strong Lokpal in its election manifesto released yesterday. Social activist Manoj Sisodia, who is a part of Team Anna, said that only one BJP-led state government (Uttarakhand) has implemented a strong Lokpal.

Sisodia was in the city to address masses in Jalandhar, where he was greeted by several empty seats. He said,“Had the Uttrakhand Lokpal been implemented in Punjab, the top leadership of SAD-BJP and Congress would have been punished as per Lokpal rules, judging by several corruption cases going on in various courts.”

He added,“When candidates come to seek votes, the masses need to question them regarding what their parties are doing for implementation of Lokpal. Most parties are silent over the implementation of a ‘strong’ Lokpal.”

Sisodia said that Team Anna is not happy with the Congress model of Lokpal presented by the PM and will continue to “awaken the masses”.

Gopal Rai,another team Anna member said,“Masses should not get carried away and rather they should vote for honest candidates.”

Team Anna clarified that they are not in Punjab to support any political party, but only to generate awarness among the masses.
