NGO celebrates Animal Day

Hope Animal Welfare Society and shopkeepers of Sarabha Nagar market on Sunday celebrated Animal Day at the main market. An on-the-spot painting competition was organised for the children on the occasion.

The children were asked to make paintings of animals. Poonam Kalra,the founder of the NGO,said the aim behind this is to make people aware about taking care of animals. She said the NGO had just concluded the animal welfare week,under which all the dogs of Sarabha Nagar market area were vaccinated with anti-rabies vaccines.

The gathering of people was addressed by Dr Balwinder Kaur,an animal lover. Shiv Kaushal,a Limca record holder for dog training,offered tips to train dogs.
