Functioning of District Congress Committees (DCCs) across the state will soon be changed altogether. This is being done to revive Congress in the state and also to replace many non-performers. This is the message sent by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) office across the state.
Apart from this the new DCC president Gurpreet Gogi today introduced six observers who will be keeping an eye over the work of 12 block presidents of Ludhiana urban area.
Not only this, even the DCC offices will also go hi-tech and more offices will be opened constituency wise, revealed information from PPCC office bearers. Observers have been appointed across the state and they will closely watch the functioning of block presidents and report directly to the PPCC, who will further convey it to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and necessary replacements will be done, revealed the office of PPCC.
“Now everything is under watch of our national president Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi and the changes in working of DCCs have also been done as per the instructions of both of them,” revealed Gogi.
The observers have been appointed to make sure that block presidents and further the ward presidents ensure full support to the DCC president, while earlier no such arrangement had been done and hence groupism was prevalent. “While the DCC president in Ludhiana has been replaced in an effort to end groupism, corrections need to be done in other parts of the state as well. Everyone’s performance is not under a scanner as of now,” said PPCC general secretary and Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Aashu. Many replacements are on the cards in the coming weeks, confirmed sources, while Gogi’s new mantra is to motivate the workers and also to give them their ‘due’ respect.
Focus is on conducting monthly meetings at block as well as district level, which are not being done in many districts. It was not being done even in Ludhiana and meetings were being held in the residence of former minister Manish Tewari whenever he used to visit Ludhiana.
