The Offset Printers Association (OPA) has condemned the action of Adobe Software for conducting a raid with the help of Ludhiana police on Gagan Photostat on Tuesday. General Secretary of the Association Kamal Chopra said,“The company needs to give prior notice to the persons rather than conducting raids all of a sudden.”

The police arrested Gagan Kalra for using pirated software and also confiscated their nine computers which were sans authorisation by the company.

Kamal Chopra, however, said that this is no way to sell the product. They need to come for a table talk rather than creating panic among users.

Chopra added,“We do understand that the Government of India is also coming up strictly with new rules and regulations against piracy. We support the action of the Union government. But the misuse of this rule by the foreign suppliers is not justified. The multi-national companies (MNCs) have started harassing Indian buyers in the shadow of the above said rule.”

Chopra stated that Offset Printers Association will also take up the matter with the state industries minister so that he can take up their matter with the Government of India
