MC team demolishes 6 shops under construction

The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation on Thursday demolished six under-construction shops on Sekhewal road.

A team led by assistant town planner Harpreet Ghai demolished the shops, which were being constructed near government school, following orders of MC Commissioner Pradeep Aggarwal.

“The shops were in violation of building bylaws and thus we demolished them,” said Ghai. Sources said that a local political leader supported the construction of the shops but the commissioner ordered action immediately following a complaint.
