Finally, the MC commissioner,AK Sinha has given nod to 27 pending building proposals which were awaiting clearance for a period ranging between two months and two years. The move will earn MC a revenue worth Rs 2.54 crore in the form of development charges, building fee and other sundry charges.

The processing of applications,it may be mentioned, gathered momentum following the state government’s decision to confer powers on the commissioners of the corporations to clear cases at their own level unless they needed some technical advice. Earlier, all files used to go to the government for a formal sanction which often resulted in delay of projects.

Although the directive had come about a week ago,but MC Commissioner A.K Sinha exercised his powers today resulting in the long-pending cases taking off finally.
