Ludhiana: Jagtar Singh died when a speeding mini truck rammed him on Friday. Hardeep Singh,cousin of the deceased registered a case of death due to negligence against the driver of the truck under Sections 304-A,279 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code with the Jamalpur police. As per the complaint,Jagtar Singh alias Harmandeep Singh was going to Veer Palace from Jamalpur and when he was near Bhakra Vyas Board Office on Chandigarh Road when a mini truck from behind hit him. The driver has been identified as Mohinder Singh of Village Shekh Talwara of police station Sidhwan Bet. The driver fled from the spot,as per the complaint. ASI Lakhwinder Singh said that a case has been registered and search is on for the driver.
Guru Nanak students shine in semester results
Ludhiana: The students of MA Sociology II and MA Sociology IV Semester of Guru Nanak Girls College,Model Town,Ludhiana have once again proved their excellence in the Panjab University Semester Examinations. In Sociology II,Gurpreet Kaur stood 9th in the Panjab University by securing 71%. In MA Sociology IV Semester,Maninder Kaur stood 8th in Panjab University by securing 70.8%.
