The mechanical road sweeping project is all set to get delayed due to the Lok Sabha polls.
At a meeting that was held between the consultant company, Feedback, and MC officials on Thursday, it was decided that 60-km road would be taken for phase 1 of the project.
It includes main roads like College road, Ferozepur road, Pakhowal road, old GT road and Chandigarh road. The project is estimated to be worth Rs 7-8 crore.
Additional Commissioner Dr Sumit Jarangal said, “We will be floating tenders and machines will be hired as per rates quoted by companies on per km basis. However, work will begin only after the Lok Sabha polls.”
