The scholarship claims to give an opportunity to aspiring Indian students to live,learn and work in New Zealand and excel in the field of their choice. SIT is a New Zealand government owned polytechnic college located in Invercargill,Southland. The fifth largest polytechnic in the country,the scholarship will support Indian students with full fee scholarship of an amount varying between NZ $ 14000 (INR 4,34000) to NZ$ 18,000 (INR 5,58000) to cover the programme fees. SIT will also assist the students in securing part-time jobs during their study and full-time jobs in Southland on completion of their studies,if they so desire. John Wright scholarships are available for postgraduate diploma in business enterprise,graduate diploma in sport and recreation,graduate diploma in environmental management,diploma in information technology,and ATTTO diploma in tourism management. A condition of the scholarship being provided is to be involved in or become a club or regional representative of Southland cricket and other sports, he said.
