Handlers of Nabha,Halwara explosives same: Jagraon SSP

The Jagraon police claimed on Friday that the explosives found in Nabha and then in Halwara had common handlers and have identified them as Pragat Singh and Darshan Singh,residents of Pahlwaan village near Dhurri.

Booked by the Patiala police for planting explosives in Nabha,they are suspected to have brought the explosives to Halwara as well.

Jagraon SSP Harinder Singh Chahal said: “Two thieves,identified as Kuldeep Singh and Bacchitar Singh,who had stolen a car from Ram Pura Phull confessed to selling the car for Rs 40,000 to Pargat Singh.”

Patiala SSP Ranbir Singh Khatra added,“We have been conducting raids to nab the two accused but they still absconding. The case will be solved once they are caught.”

On January 25,the Ludhiana rural police had found explosives in a car abandoned near the Halwara Air Base situated some 30 kilometres from Ludhiana.

The police had claimed that someone was trying to put together a bomb and when the attempt failed,he fled leaving the material behind.

“The detonator found in the car was already diffused. The urea that we have found is also used in making crude bombs,” explained SSP Chahal. A mobile phone was also recovered from the car.

“Both the accused have had contacts with absconding terrorist Bakshish Singh who is the main accused in the attack on Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh,” Chahal added.
