Earth moving association holds dharna at DC office

Singh said,“We are picking waste mud from the fields of the farmer and after that he starts cultivating his crop. We have already done contracts with the farmers to pick this mud and it has nothing to do with mining act. We are not digging below 3 feet in any field. But now the police teams and even the mining department is not allowing us to pick mud from the fields and moreover FIRs are being registered on our association members. “We are unaware of being included in mining act all of a sudden and moreover,even if action has to be taken,first Challans should be issued instead of registering FIRs directly,” he added.

It needs to be mentioned that as per high court order,mining is banned at many sites because of lack of environmental clearance certificates. However,the association members said,

“Although mining has been banned,but still sand and crusher are readily available in the market,but at more than double prices. It has only resulted in inflation for common man,otherwise there is no check on banned sites where work goes on at night hours.”

The earth moving association says that they will stage another dharna on August 29 and they demand that they should be excluded from the mining act.

The members stated that as of now they have stopped picking of earth from the fields and will not do till the time,some relaxation is not given to them.
