The Ludhiana police have been successful in recovering the original number plate of the Chevrolet Optra which was driven by DSP Balraj Singh Gill to the farm house where he was later found murdered along with Monica Kapila on February 2. This Chevrolet Optra belongs to a friend of the deceased DSP. The police had arrested six person in the case. DCP Ashish Choudhary informed,Harwinder Singh alias Binder,during his course of interrogation,had told us that they had thrown the original number plate of this car at a place on the Dera Baba Nanak Batala road. We took Harwinder Singh to the spot from where the number plate was recovered. The original number plate,bearing the number PB 10 DA 60,has been recovered from near Preet Palace situated on Dera Baba Nanak Batala Road. As per the police,the four main accused Harvinder Singh,Pritpal Singh,Umesh Krar and Hasanjit had tried to sell off the Chevrolet Optra and Innova which belonged to Monica Kapila in Gurdaspur. After they failed to sell the cars,they dumped them in the city. The police had arrested Ravinder Pal Singh and Davinder Singh for helping the other four accused in changing the number plates and then trying to sell them off. The police currently have the remand of all the six accused who will be presented in Court on Wednesday when the remand ends. The police also claims that the numbers plates of Innova car which Monica had been driving on that day were broken to pieces and dumped in the Budha Nullah by the accused.
