Involved in many snatching cases,would stab those who refused to give their things
The Ludhiana police have arrested five members of a dreaded gang,which the cops claim could stab anyone to loot him. Those arrested have been identified as Subhash Kumar alias Rinku,a resident of New Kundanpuri,Vijay Kumar,a resident of Salem Tabri,Pappu,a resident of Basant Vihar,Sonu and Ajay Kumar,resident of Kaali Sadak.
Giving this information,ADCP Nilambari Vijay Jagdale and ACP Swapan Sharma said,These gang members have previous cases of loot registered in various police stations. We have arrested them with some sharp weapons which they used while committing crimes. He added,Their usual modus operandi would be that they would accost a person with the intention of snatching his belongings. In case he refused or resisted,they would stab him.
The officials also claimed that these gang members operated mainly in areas like Focal Point,Salem Tabri,Chawwni Mohalla and Basti Jodhewal.
The member never kept any vehicle and committed their crimes on foot.
With the arrest of these persons,the police claim to have solved the murder case of a youth who was identified as Vishnu Sharma. Vishnu was found murdered by the Salem Tabri police in April this year.
During questioning of the gang members,the police have found that Subhas,Sunny,Sonu,Jagru and Ramu were involved in this murder. They had first tried to snatch things from Vishnu and when he resisted,they stabbed him in his stomach and left him to die.
Similarly in another,Basto Jodhewal had registered a case on statement of one Munish Kumar,who had told the police that some unknown persons had forcibly taken away his two mobile phones and purse. When he resisted,they had stabbed him in his leg.
This crime too was committed by the same gang,said the police.
