3 arrested for murder

The accused told the police that they were drug addicts.

The police on Thursday arrested three friends of 21-year-old Abhishek Kumar of Prem Nagar in a murder case. His body was found near Jawaddi Bridge on February 1.

The accused have been identified as Pritpal Singh, Tejpal Singh and Gurdeep Singh. The trio was initially arrested by division number 4 police station for drug peddling. During investigation the accused disclosed about the death of Abhishek.

The accused told the police that they were drug addicts. On January 31, they had met at the house of Gurdeep Singh. They injected heroin in the vein of Abhishek following which he died. They kept the body with them for the whole night.

On the morning of February 1, they took the body on a motorcycle, threw it near Jawaddi and fled. Inspector Amrinder Singh said the police would take the accused on production warrant for investigation.
