Woman sets ablaze sons,self after tiff with husband

As Nishad stepped out of the house,Madhuri closed the door threatening to kill the children and commit suicide. While Nishad kept knocking the doors,she wrapped her two sons — Shubham (8) and Sumit (3) — in a blanket and set them afire after sprinkling kerosene on the minors. She also doused herself with kerosene and immolated herself around 5.30 am. Nishad raised an alarm seeking help from neighbours. They broke into the room,but the woman and the children had died of burns by then,Tiwari said.

The SO added that Madhuri had earlier stayed with her husband in Mumbai for several months and they all returned to the native place last week only. Nishad,who had to leave for Mumbai early morning,asked his wife to stay back for a few months. He tried to convince her that he was not able to support the family in Mumbai. However,Madhuri did not relent and killed the children before committing suicide,Tiwari said.
