Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said that a waterway facility will be provided in the Dakshinanchal area of Gorakhpur district to facilitate the export of crops and vegetables in order to make the region shine on the industrial map.
Addressing the closing ceremony of Saansad Khel Mahakumbh in Bansgaon, the CM said: “Previously, maximum migration of workers used to take place from Dakshinanchal. However, with so many industries being planned for Dhuriapar, Gola, Sikriganj and Khajani areas, people will no longer have to go anywhere to seek employment. The Government has allocated Rs 200 crore in the budget for land acquisition in this regard.”
According to a government official, Dakshinanchal is an area in the Gorakhpur district on the Gorakhpur-Varanasi highway.
The CM said that his government was committed to developing sports and encouraging sportspersons. “Resources are being strengthened on a large scale in the state to promote sports and sportspersons… In rural areas, sports kits are being made available to players through youth and women’s Mangal Dals. A new breed of sportspersons is being prepared from village to village through Saansad Khel Mahakumbh,” the CM said.
The CM also inaugurated an integrated steel plant of industrial group Ankur Udyog in Gorakhpur. Speaking there, the CM said that investment proposals worth Rs 33.50 lakh crore received in the Global Investors Summit were a proof of the transformed atmosphere in UP. “It is also indicative of the fact that today the state is ready to become the largest economy of the country,” he said.
Claiming that before 2017, it was difficult to bring investment to UP, the CM said that his government addressed issues like deteriorated law and order and lack of transparency. “Today, the safety of investors and their capital is guaranteed in the state,” he added.
