A video of the vehicle parked outside a police station in the district has since gone viral on social media. “We have removed the modifications and after a fine of Rs 2,000 was paid by the man, we have released the vehicle,” said Circle Officer (City) Suresh Kumar Mishra on Wednesday.
He added, “We don’t know what the idea behind the modification was, but it was against the rules. The challan was issued on Saturday.”
Ambedkar Nagar ASP Vishal Pandey said, “The Model Code of Conduct is in place and regular vehicle checking is being done by police. While checking, a modified car was found and since no modification is allowed without proper permission from the RTO, the vehicle was seized under the Motor Vehicles Act. Other aspects are being looked into.”
