UP: ITBP jawan shoots man dead over minor dispute

An ITBP constable on Saturday shot a 30-year-old man dead and injured his sister in Choti Koilara village in Shahjahanpur following a dispute over a trivial issue.

Krishna Kumar Jaiswal who was at the village on leave, had a heated debate with his neighbour Collector Yadav over parking of the latter’s motorcycle last night, SP D P N Pandey said.

This afternoon, Jaiswal beat up Yadav over the same issue and as his sister rushed to help him, opened several rounds from his licenced .315 bore rifle, the SP said. Both Yadav and his sister were rushed to Varanasi hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

Four of those named in the FIR, including Jaiswal have been arrested while the hunt was on for two others, the SP said. Additional force has been deployed in the area and the situation is under control.
