Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday launched the “Samarth Uttar Pradesh – Viksit Uttar Pradesh @2047” campaign in Lucknow, urging citizens to help shape the state’s Vision Document for 2047.

The campaign, unveiled days after the a special marathon discussion in the Assembly on Vision 2047, includes a new Samarth Uttar Pradesh portal that allows people to submit suggestions on 12 priority sectors, from agriculture and health to education, industry, IT, infrastructure, tourism, social welfare, security and good governance, and is being shaped around the theme of “economic strength, innovation and vitality”.

More than 400 retired officials and subject experts from administration, police, forestry, agriculture, education and health attended a one-day orientation workshop at Lok Bhavan, which began with a short film on Uttar Pradesh’s development since 2017.

Adityanath said the campaign will make every citizen a partner in development under the Shatabdi Sankalp Abhiyan and called on senior citizens and intellectuals to contribute their experience. He noted improvements in the state economy, saying Uttar Pradesh’s gross state domestic product had risen from Rs 13 lakh crore to Rs 35 lakh crore in eight years and that the state is now among India’s largest and fastest-growing economies.

The first phase of the campaign will feature seminars at academic institutions, followed by active participation from ministers, MPs and MLAs. Resolutions will be passed in every gram panchayat and ward, and citizen suggestions will be collected through QR codes placed at public locations, schools and colleges. The link to the portal — [https://samarthuttarpradesh.up.gov.in](https://samarthuttarpradesh.up.gov.in) — was also launched to make it easier for people to register feedback directly.

The chief minister said, “Subject experts and NITI Aayog will evaluate useful and innovative suggestions, and the best ones will be rewarded at both district and state levels. The initiative aims not only to gather public feedback, but also to ensure its meaningful integration into policymaking for real development.”

Principal Secretary (Planning) Alok Kumar presented the blueprint for the vision document, explaining that it rests on three core themes: economic strength, innovation and vitality. The state aims to expand its economy to 6 trillion dollars by 2047, he said, aligning the exercise with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Viksit Bharat @2047” goal.

Officials said submissions will be evaluated by subject experts and NITI Aayog, and the best proposals will be rewarded at district and state levels. Around 400 intellectuals who attended the workshop will visit their assigned districts on September 8–9 to meet students, teachers, farmers, entrepreneurs, NGOs and residents, share the state’s development journey and gather grassroots input for the Vision Document.

The campaign will run from September 5 to October 5 and will be promoted through hoardings, newspaper advertisements, radio, television and social media. Seminars at the gram-panchayat level are planned to ensure broad participation and to channel local ideas into the state’s long-term planning process.
