UP ATS arrests two men suspected of spying for ISI
The two arrested men have been identified by the ATS as Amrit Gill alias Amrit Pal (25), a native of Punjab's Bhatinda; and Riyazuddin (36), a resident of Faridnagar in Ghaziabad district of UP.

The Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) of the UP Police on Sunday said that they have arrested two men for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, and terror financing.
The two arrested men have been identified by the ATS as Amrit Gill alias Amrit Pal (25), a native of Punjab’s Bhatinda; and Riyazuddin (36), a resident of Faridnagar in Ghaziabad district of UP.
“An ATS team arrested Gill from Bathinda on November 23 and brought him on transit remand, while Riyazuddin was summoned to the ATS headquarters for questioning, from where he was arrested on Sunday,” the ATS said in a statement.
The ATS said they received information that some people were getting money from “suspicious” sources, which were being used for terror activities and spying.
“The two arrested accused were sending sensitive confidential information to the ISI in exchange for money. During the collection of evidence, we checked Riyazuddin’s bank accounts and found that about Rs 70 lakh was transferred between March 2022 and April 2022… Money was sent to Amrit Gill, who provided information to the ISI. Gill shared information about the Indian Army’s tanks etc,” the ATS said, adding after a detailed investigation, an FIR was registered against Riyazuddin, Izharul Haq, and others.
Haq is currently lodged in a Bihar jail and will be brought to Lucknow on remand in connection with the current FIR.
“Riyazuddin and Haq met while doing welding work in Rajasthan, and since then both have been working for the Pakistani intelligence agency and have also been in touch with each other,” the ATS said.
The ATS said that following their interrogation and preliminary probe, it was found that Gill was in contact with Pakistani ISI agents and used to send sensitive and restricted information related to the Indian Army. “In return for this work, he was provided financial support with the help of Riyazuddin and Haq,” the ATS added.
