U-20 cricket: Pratapgarh defeat Kushinagar team in thriller

Though Kushinagar team fought back hard,however,its efforts fell 2 runs short of the victory mark as the team could score 157 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Guddu (47) was the main run-getter. M Adil took three wickets while Praveen Shukla and Ashutosh Singh claimed two wickets each.

In another quarterfinal,Allahabad defeated Khalilabad by four wickets. Khalilabad team scored 70 runs losing all its wickets in 16.1 overs. Besides Brijesh Mishra (39),no other player reached the double-digit mark due to the accurate bowling exhibited by the Allahabad bowlers. Yogendra Singh took four wickets. Sumit Trivedi also bowled with good vision and took wickets giving away just 3 runs in his 2.1 over spell. M Furkan took two wickets.

Allahabad romped home after attaining the set mark in 11.1 overs with four wickets to spare. Mahboob Alam (35 not out) was the main run-getter. Kamlesh claimed three wickets.
