Targeting former Member of Parliament from Amethi Rahul Gandhi, Union minister and local MP Smriti Irani dared the Congress leader to contest from the parliamentary constituency again.
“Here, people would see their MP only once in a year, and that too for a few hours. Not only they did not see their MP, but funds from his quota were hardly spent in Amethi. He went to the south (to contest polls) and does not have the courage to say that he would contest from Amethi again,” she said.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Adityanath, the development that Amethi has seen in the last four-and-a-half years was not seen in the past 40 years, she claimed.
Praising Irani for “regularly visiting Amethi”, the CM also claimed that before 2019 the local MP used to turn up only during the election and that the segment saw an unprecedented development under the “double-engine government”.
Informing that nearly 1.11 lakh sportspersons participated in different competitions during the tournament, Adityanath inaugurated and laid foundation stones for over 800 projects worth Rs 700 crore.
