Ram Rajbhar to oversee BSP poll campaign in Delhi
LUCKNOW: State BSP president Ram Achal Rajbhar has been appointed party in-charge of poll-bound Delhi. Rajbhar is also party in-charge in Uttarakhand. Delhi is expected to go for Assembly elections by the year-end. Sources said Ram Chandra Tyagi,who was looking after the party affairs in Delhi,has been shifted to Jharkhand. Rajbhar said he was called by party chief Mayawati in Delhi on August 10 and given the new responsibility.
Woman,3 children burnt to death
LUCKNOW: A woman and her three children were burnt to death at their house in Deorias Khurkhundu locality Monday morning. Police said Vimla Devi (30) and children Kinjal (5),Dharam (3) and Dhela (six months) were sleeping when the house caught fire. Police suspect an earthen lamp kept in the house caused the fire. Vimlas husband,Dhananjay Thakur,suffered over 80 per cent burn injuries and is admitted at BR Medical College,Gorakhpur.

LUCKNOW: A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Kakori police station area of Lucknow. According to the police,the girl had gone to graze her cattle in an orchard near her village on Sunday evening when she was raped by an unidentified person,whom she could not identify. The victims mother lodged a complaint with the police on Monday morning.

LUCKNOW: Two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants shot a jeweller in Sarojini Nagar area Monday night. According to the police,Susheel Yadav (35) was about to return to home after closing his shop around 9.15 pm when,according to the people present there,two unidentified persons came on a motorcycle,fired at him and ran away.

LUCKNOW: Two motorcycle-borne men allegedly hurled a crude bomb,injuring two police constables and a home guard patrolling in Naka police station area,Monday. Police said constables Sheshnath Tiwari,Jaiprakash Saroj and Sumit Kumar,head constable Satyendra Kumar Tripathi and home guard Ranvijay Singh were at Vijay Nagar when two men threw a crude bomb. Sub-Inspector Sri Ram said an FIR has been lodged against unidentified persons for attempt to murder. ENS
