Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu Tuesday assured party workers that the state would be given special focus given its 80 Lok Sabha constituencies that is equivalent to five other states.
Addressing a press conference,Naidu said the atmosphere in UP was in favour of the BJP and people see a decisive,dynamic and development-oriented leader in partys prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Naidu also said the BJP will contest the election on the agenda of development and good governance.
Naidu was in Lucknow to announce the programmes of six different campaign-related sub-committees that the party has formed for the Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting was attended by national general secretary in-charge of UP Amit Shah,state president Laxmikant Bajpai,co-incharge Rameshwar Chaurasiya and Satyendra Kushwaha,all state general secretaries and presidents of eight regions.
Naidu asked the regional units to hold Lok Sabha sammelans in all 80 constituencies between October 15 to November 30,with participation of at least 15 people from each polling booth.
From October 15 onwards,there will be meetings of intellectuals who are interested to join BJP and can make opinion in the public in the partys favour.
The party has prepared a list of 100 leaders,including Murli Manohar Joshi,Arun Jaitley,Ravi Shankar Prasad and others,who will address the Lok Sabha sammelans and other programmes, Naidu said.
In reply to a question about role of seniormost leader L K Advani in the party after the Lok Sabha elections,Naidu said,Advaniji is the tallest political leader in the country and he will continue guiding the party irrespective of the poll results.
