A man beheaded his sister at his residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki on Friday morning and later walked calmly down the road with her severed head. The police said Mohammed Riyaz, 24, was unhappy over his 19-year-old sister’s relationship with a local man. A video of Riyaz holding the severed head has gone viral. According to the police, at around noon on Friday they got information that a man holding the severed head of a woman was spotted on a road in Mithwara village. A police team rushed to the spot and caught Riyaz. He was taken to Fatehpur station. Another police team went to Riyaz's house and recovered the remaining portion of the body. Circle Officer (Barabanki) Raghuvir Singh said that during questioning the accused revealed he was upset over his sister's relationship with the man. The police revealed that on Friday at around 11.30 am, Riyaz got into an argument with his sister over her refusal to end the relationship. No other family member was home at the time. After the argument, Riyaz went outside and returned with an axe. He attacked her when she was standing outside the house, officers added. The FIR against Riyaz has been filed by his father Abdul Raseed, a farmer. Dheerendra Kumar, Station House Officer of Fatehpur police station, said that during preliminary inquiry, the police came to know that the victim had eloped with a neighbour around three months ago. A case was then filed against the man at Fatehpur police station on charges of kidnapping, among others. Around a week later, the police found the girl and arrested the man with whom she had eloped. He is currently in jail.
