Eye on LS polls,Rajnath,Amit Shah in Lucknow today

Singh and Shah will draw an outline for the party's task for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

In his first visit to Lucknow after becoming BJP’s national president,senior leader Rajnath Singh and state general secretary Amit Shah today will draw an outline for the party’s task for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

The three-day visit will include flagging of trucks carrying relief materials for Uttarakhand flood victims,attending a press conference and a meeting with party’s state office-bearers. Singh will later meet party leaders at his residence and hold discussions on preparations for the general elections next year.

“Rajnath will,for the first time,meet the new state team Thursday,review their performance in the past four months and assign new tasks,” said a party leader.

Amit Shah has already reviewed party’s status in UP during his visit earlier this month and he is likely to discuss his findings with Singh in presence of state president Laxmikant Bajpai and other senior leaders.

“The party has planned to construct nearly 1,000 houses in Uttarakhand to rehabilitate people there who have lost their homes and shops,” Bajpai said at a press conference.

A party leader said Singh doesn’t want a grand welcome because of the hundreds of deaths in Uttarakhand.
