Drama ruled the first day of the state executive committee meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday.

Drama ruled the first day of the state executive committee meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday.

During the inaugural speech by former national president of the party Murli Manohar Joshi at the Scientific Convention Centre, pamphlets were distributed in the meeting hall, asking national president Nitin Gadkari to take stern steps against some leaders of the party and save the BJP in UP.

The pamphlets brought open the dissent in the party regarding formation of the state committee as also continuation of Nagendra Nath as organisational secretary of the party for the past eight years. The pamphlets were distributed under the banner of the BJP Bachao Sangharsh Samiti.

The pamphlet alleges that state president Surya Pratap Shahi has been left powerless and that only controversial people are given plum organisational posts at districts and state level.

State party spokesperson Satyadev Singh said if any such thing happened it will be reported to Gadkari. Incidentally,Singh’s name appears in the pamphlet as part of the unsatisfied group.

Meanwhile, commenting on Sonia’s election as Congress president for the fourth consecutive time,Joshi said it is ironical that people who are unaware of the country’s cultural legacy are being elected as the president of one of the biggest national political party. He also criticised Union Home Minister P Chidambaram for his statement on saffron terror. Joshi also held the UPA government responsible for trouble in Kashmir. In his presidential address, state president Surya Pratap Shahi said the party was bound by its commitment to contruct Ayodhya temple.

Political resolution
BJP will strongly react to commercialisation of education, appeasement of minorities by the Centre and UP government’s ban on local body elections on party lines.
