DGP Prashant Kumar on Wednesday announced commendation discs and appreciation letters for Head Constable Raj Kumar Yadav and Constable Anoop Kumar Prajapati in recognition of their “exemplary bravery in saving a woman’s life at Kanpur railway station on Saturday. The two are constables in the Government Railway Police (GRP) and are posted in Kanpur. According to the GRP, the incident occurred when the woman attempted to disembark from the moving Shram Shakti Express after realising her children were still on the platform. She reportedly lost her balance and was about to fall between the train and the platform when the two constables, who were on duty nearby, quickly rushed to her aid and rescued her. DGP Kumar posted on X, “Saluting the bravery of GRP heroes HC Rajkumar Yadav & Constable Anoop Kumar Prajapati.. . Proud to announce a reward for their heroism.”
