CBI team meets top officials,cops to seek assistance in probe
The CBI team is believed to have discussed assistance it required from the government and the police to carry out the investigation.
A three-member CBI team,led by Joint Director RS Bhatti who is heading the investigation into the murder of DSP Ziaul Haque and two others,on Monday met senior officers in state government and the top police officers in Lucknow.

Bhatti met Director General of Police AC Sharma,Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rakesh Garg,Principal Secretary (Home) RM Srivastava and ADG (Law and Order) Arun Kumar.
Sources said that the CBI requested the ADG to provide them the details related to the murder cases collected by the special task force (STF) during the enquiry. The details include call detail records (CDRs) of the named accused and the findings of scanning of the CDRs.
The STF was engaged to conduct a preliminary enquiry into the murders.
The sources added that the CBI officials requested the Principal Secretary (Home) and the DGP to depute a senior police officer who can be contacted by the CBI team whenever they require help. The officials also requested Srivastava and Sharma to relieve some policemen to assist the CBI team in the investigation and also provide some vehicles.
The sources said that the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister was requested to arrange accommodation for the CBI team,which is at present staying in a guest house at Rae Bareli.
The joint director will be visiting Pratapgarh tomorrow to review the investigation into the murder cases,the sources said.
Meanwhile in Pratapgarh,the CBI team today questioned the station officers of Manikpur and Nawabganj police stations Pankaj Kumar Singh and Arvind Kumar Singh respectively,regarding working of Kunda CO Ziaul Haque. Both police stations come under the jurisdiction of Kunda CO.
The SOs reportedly were questioned about the matters and the cases being supervised by the CO related to the areas under their police stations.
Agency seeks remand of two accused
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI),which is investigating the murder of DSP Ziaul Haque and two others,on Monday moved an application before a local court of Lucknow,requesting to summon two accused who are lodged in Pratapgarh jail in connection with the murder of Balipur pradhan Nanhe Yadav.
In another application,the CBI sought their police remand of 14 days.
The courts Special Judicial Magistrate Mirza Zeenat allowed the first application of the CBI and will take up the other one on Tuesday.
Both applications were moved by Subhash Kundu,DSP in CBI. The two persons lodged in Pratapgarh jail are Sanjay Pratap Singh alias Guddu Singh and his brother Rajiv Pratap Singh alias Raju Singh,both residents of Pratapgarh. On March 2 evening,Nanhe Yadav was shot dead near his house. His death sparked a chain of events which led to the killing of his younger brother Suresh Yadav and Haque. Initailly,the local police investigated the case and arrested Guddu and Raju,both residents of Balipur village,on March 4.
Later on March 8,the CBI took over the investigation after the state government recommended for it.
In their application seeking police remand,the CBI stated that they wanted both persons because they need to recover the weapon of offence,unearth the entire gamut of criminal conspiracy behind the murder,ascertain the sequence of events leading to the murder,possible hide-outs of the remaining accused persons and to know the details of other accused persons involved in the crime.
