By-election for Pipraich Assembly seat on May 8

The by-election for the Pipraich Legislative Assembly seat in Gorakhpur district will be held on May 8.

The by-election for the Pipraich Legislative Assembly seat in Gorakhpur district will be held on May 8. This seat became vacant after the death of BSP MLA Jamuna Prasad Nishad in November 2010.

According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission,the notification for the by-election will be issued on April 11,nominations will be accepted till April 18,scrutiny will take place on April 19 and withdrawals of forms will be allowed till April 21. Counting of votes willbe done on May 13. The ECI has set the target to complete the entire process of election by May 15.
