The interim Budget was “statistical jugglery” aimed at misleading the people ahead of the Lok Sabha elections,Chief Miinister Mayawati said on Monday.

The budget only talks about reducing bank rates, fiscal deficit, hike in sectoral expenditure and the FDI,but has nothing to offer the common people, who suffered due to spiralling prices, she said.

It has benefited only industrialists and the business community, said the CM.

Despite the UPA’s claims of creating millions of new job opportunities, the unemployment is at its peak.

“The Centre’s excuse of global recession is just to cover up their lapses. The government has failed to take any corrective measures to fight the meltdown, though the indication was visible over a year ago,” she said. Attacking the Centre on the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act,she said,”a mere 100 days’ job in a year is not enough.”
