BJP to protest against Maya govt on March 29

The Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to call a statewide bandh against the deteriorating law and order situation

The Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to call a statewide bandh against the deteriorating law and order situation,corruption and undemocratic actions of the BSP government on March 29. Party workers would paralyse the government and hold dharnas across the state that day,state BJP president Surya Pratap Shahi said on Wednesday.

Shahi said the party would organise agitation across the state against the corrupt practices of both the BSP government in the state and the Congress at the Centre. However,he said due to board examinations in the state,the agitation would be held only during 11 am to 2 pm.

“While March 29 has been planned as a major show,we would not stop there. Five big rallies have been planned in April where national leaders will address the party workers,” said Shahi. In order to mobilise people,BJP would also take out “Sandesh Yatras” before these rallies.

The rallies have been planned on April 9 in Meerut,April 17 in Gorakhpur,April 18 in Varanasi,April 26 in Faizabad and April 27 again in Meerut.

Shahi said the BSP government was adopting undemocratic ways to handle protests and agitat¿ons. “On March 14,we held a peaceful march against the indirect election of mayors,but still the police lathicharged us,” said Shahi.

He said the sugercane price,fixed at Rs 145 a quintal by the Central government,was inadequate and should be raised to at least Rs 250 a quintal.
