The Bharatiya Janata Party will start its three-day protest against the Urban Local Self Government Laws (second amendment) Bill,2011,from Tuesday. The three-day agitation will see party leaders meet the Governor on the issue and take out processions in urban areas of the state.
The partys state spokesperson Hriday Narain Dixit said,The move by the state government is totally against democracy. The Bahujan Samaj Party has taken away the basic right of the urban voters to choose their mayor. The BJP has now decided to take this issue not just to the highest level,but also to the people.
On Tuesday,senior party leaders will be meeting the Governor BL Joshi to present their resentment on the bill. This will be followed by a torch procession in urban areas of the state on Wednesday and a statewide protest on Thursday. Meanwhile,national BJP president Nitin Gadkari has nominated two state leaders for the BJP Mazdoor Mahasangh. The party has nominated KK Shukla from Lucknow as the national general secretary and Sunil Bharala from Meerut as the national vice president. ENS
