While addressing a gathering at Ravindralaya to mark the first meeting of his “Dalit, Pichara, Alpasankhyak” Manch, Union Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma Saturday criticised the Congress leaders in UP for being “inactive”.
In an apparent reference to state party president Nirmal Khatri and senior leader Pramod Tiwari, Beni said: “There are leaders who have taken the responsibility but did not sit here even for 15 days. Then why did they take the responsibility”
Further attacking Tiwari, Beni said, “Then there are Congress leaders here who have been elected to the Rajya Sabha with the support of the Samajwadi Party. This is the current scene of the Congress in UP. We need to wake up the Congress here.”
