Akhilesh blames Maya for poor health conditions in state

Targeting BSP president and his predecessor Mayawati,Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has blamed her five-year rule in Uttar Pradesh for poor health conditions in the state.

Targeting BSP president and his predecessor Mayawati,Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has blamed her five-year rule in Uttar Pradesh for poor health conditions in the state.

While launching the “Hausla” campaign of the Health Department amidst much fanfare in Lucknow on Monday,Akhilesh said the former government did not pay attention to the issue of maternal and infant health.

“If we would have got the past five years (of governance) then (health) results would have been better,” Akhilesh said while addressing the gathering. He said that Health Minister Ahmed Hasan is now working hard to bring the Health Department back on track.

Talking about the campaign,the CM said its purpose is to save lives of mothers and children and create awareness about best health practices that can save their lives. He said since Uttar Pradesh is the most populated state of India,the awareness about mother and child health will not only improve health indicators in the state but also in the country.

A promotion video featuring the CM talking about the “Hausla” campaign was also launched.
