30-year-old man arrested for rape, murder of minor
During questioning, the accused confessed that he kidnapped the girl from outside her house.
The parents then informed the police, who rushed and took Kashim to the police station.A 30-year-old man was arrested on Saturday by the Unnao Police for allegedly raping and then killing a six-year-old minor girl here, whose body was recovered from a pond based on the information given by the accused on Sunday morning. The victim’s body has been sent for autopsy and its report is awaited, police said.
Station House Officer of Soha police station Vinod Kumar said the accused, identified as Kashim Nuth, would be produced before the court on Monday. Based on the complaint of the victim’s mother, the police have registered a case against Kashim on charges of rape and destruction of evidence. They have also invoked the POCSO Act against him.

Kashim, a farmer, stays a few distance away from the victim’s house. On Saturday evening, the girl went missing while playing outside her house. While looking for her, the girl’s family was informed by a local that she was last seen with Kashim. When the girl’s parents went to him, Kashim refused the allegations.
The parents then informed the police, who rushed and took Kashim to the police station.
During questioning, Kashim confessed that he kidnapped the girl from outside her house.
“Kashim claims that he took the victim near the pond and raped her. He further confessed that he killed the girl by strangulating her as she raised her voice for help and threw her body into the pond,” Kumar said.
