18 nominations filed on day 1 of phase III

With the issuance of notification for the third phase of election on Saturday,18 candidates filed their nomination papers on the first day. The nominations for the third phase,which covers 56 Assembly constituencies of ten districts,will continue till January 28,while the polling will take place on February 15. On Saturday,nominations were filed in the districts of Mirzapur,Chandauli,Jaunpur,Sonbhadra,Allahabad,and CSM Nagar.

Among those who filed their papers are SP candidate Mahesh Narayan from Handia seat of Allahabad,Congress candidates Chaudhary Jitendra Nath Singh from Allahabad south,Parmendra Kumar from Mariyahu seat of Jaunpur and Satish Kumar Bindu from Mughalsarai seat of Chandauli. BSP candidate Jagdish Narayan filed his nomination papers from Zafrabad seat of Jaunpur. BJP candidate Vinay Kumar filed his nomination papers from Badlapur seat of Jaunpur. Joint CEO Anita Meshram said 11 candidates withdrew their candidature for the first phase of election. Monday is the last day for withdrawal of candidature for the first phase election.
