The CPM will not resort to violent methods to defend its workers and sympathisers in West Bengal, who were bearing the brunt of “terror” unleashed by Trinamool Congress-led coalition since it came to power, party politburo member and Bengal secretary Biman Bose said.
“We dont behave like them (TMC). It will be a mistake if we resort to violence to counter the attacks on our workers,” Bose said in an interview to the daily bulletin of party organ Desabhimani at the ongoing 20th Congress of the CPM here.
“We believe in the people, who are now realising the situation,” Bose said. The CPM is not in a hurry to return to power in Bengal,he said, and felt that Mamata should be given some more time for the people to see how she behaved and the TMC administration functioned.
“There is no short-cut to win back confidence of the people,” he said, adding,CPM would take up aggressive campaign on people’s issues and defend their rights.
