Former Trinamool Congress student wing leader Kuntal Ghosh, an accused in the West Bengal school recruitment scam case, submitted in the court on Thursday that the central agencies are torturing him and are pressuring him to name party national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee in the alleged corruption. In his submission, Ghosh lawyer's Sheikh Mehdi Nawaz claimed in the court that the investigating agencies are “torturing” his client while interrogating him in the jail. Ghosh was being pressurised to name some influential leaders in the case, he added. Ghosh reiterated the allegations outside the Alipore court where he was brought for hearing on Thursday morning. “I am being pressurised to name Abhishek Banerjee. I have informed the court about this in writing,” he claimed. Besides, Tapas Mondal and Niladri Ghosh were produced in the court. The court extended their judicial custody till April 20. Kuntal's lawyer Nawaz said, “My client submitted a jail petition to the judge. Any prisoner can write a letter directly to the judge and complain if he thinks there is injustice.” Questioning the progress of investigation in the case, he added, “There are two sides to this case. First, those who borrowed money from the market to get a job through illegal means. Second, the ones who were given the money. If people like Kuntal collected the money then who did they give it to? The investigators have not yet been able to show who received the money."
