The Detective Department of Kolkata Police has lodged an FIR against the three persons who went to La Martiniere for Boys claiming to be representatives of Union Ministry of Human Resources and Development in the wake of Rouvanjit Rawla suicide case. The FIR against the three — Ramesh Bhattacharjee,a member of Rashtriya Sanskrit Parishad,Anthony Arun Biswas,a representative of minority committee, and Dilip Dutta who is the former official of the state government — has been lodged at Shakespeare Sarani Police Station. The trio had visted the school on June 17 claiming themselves as the representatives of HRD ministry.

Before making the visit, they had informed the Shakespeare Sarani Police Station about their plan to meet the school principal despite no official endorsement from the ministry to carry out a probe. When the reports of the HRD panel visiting La Martiniere School surfaced, the Union ministry launched an investigation into the identities of the trio. The ministry asked both the school and the affiliating board,Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) about the visit of the “fictitious team”.
