Lab assistant arrested for molesting college girl

A laboratory assistant of a local college was arrested for allegedly molesting a female student of a college,in Sector 14. The accused,Satar Singh,was arrested after the girl,a resident of Baltana and a student of Government Girls College sector 14,informed her father who lodged a complaint in the Sector 14 police station.

The accused,Satar Singh,was arrested after the girl,a resident of Baltana and a student of Government Girls College sector 14,informed her father who lodged a complaint in the Sector 14 police station. Singh was also accused of forcibly confining the girl in a laboratory in the college.

The girl had gone to the college laboratory at around 3 pm where Singh tried to get intimate with her and did not allow her to leave the laboratory. When she did not reach home,her father came to the college and informed the college principal that his daughter had not reached home. When they went to the laboratory,they found that Singh had confined the girl in the room and molested her, police said.

On the complaint of the father,police registered a case under section 354 (assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty),342 (wrongful confinement) and 506 (criminal intimidation) IPC. The girl also informed the police that Singh had been harassing her for a long time.
