A day after the protesting junior doctors in West Bengal called off their “total cease work”, they announced an “indefinite” hunger strike on Saturday, claiming that their demands were not fulfilled by the state government.

After a rally on Friday, the doctors began a sit-in at Dorina Crossing in Dharmatala, setting a 24-hour deadline for the state government to fulfil their demands as promised.

After the completion of their dateline, they announced that six doctors (three male and three female) would begin the fast.“Our movement will go on. We will continue our movement until our demands will be fulfilled,” said a doctor.

However, the police have not given permission for it.
