THE CBI on Monday conducted polygraph tests on former R G Kar Medical College and Hospital (RGKMCH) principal Sandip Ghosh and five others as part of their investigation into the rape and murder of a woman trainee doctor at the institution.

Ghosh has been under the agency’s scanner since the incident earlier this month and has faced multiple rounds of questioning. According to sources, the CBI believes that his statements have been “inconsistent” and he has “not provided clear answers to crucial questions.”

The agency has obtained court permission to conduct polygraph tests on seven individuals, including Ghosh. The tests are being conducted by experts from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), New Delhi.
