Briefly State : Stopped from cheating,students vandalise college

A group of students allegedly vandalised college furniture after they were disallowed to cheat during the B.A. first year examination at a college in Nadia district on Friday.

Kalyani:A group of students allegedly vandalised college furniture after they were disallowed to cheat during the B.A. first year examination at a college in Nadia district on Friday. The first year students of Chakdaha College demanded that they be allowed to cheat and sit in a hall of their choice and abused invigilators,said SDPO of Kalyani Subhankar Bhattacharjee. When the college authorities disallowed it,the students went on a rampage forcing the staff to call in the police,he said. The examination was held subsequently,teacher-in-charge Shibnath Bandopadhyay said.

Man trampled to death by elephants

Bankura:An elderly person was trampled to death by wild elephants in Bankura district on Friday. The victim,a resident of Uporbonda village had gone to attend nature’s call when was trampled to death by wild elephants,DFO Bankura Ulan Dival said.

Online employment bank from July 26

Kolkata:The state government will unveil an online employment bank aimed at bridging the gap between job seekers and providers. The employment bank will list the 70 lakh job seekers in the state and also the details of the providers and training institutes,said Additional Secretary (Labour Department) Indranil Sengupta on Friday. The portal will also list workers in different trades like masons,plumbers and electricians. It will be inaugurated by CM on July 26.
